Welcome to the exciting world of photography! The Northeast Photography Club focuses on promoting interest in and appreciation for the art of photography. Members’ skill levels vary from beginners to professionals. Their areas of photographic interests include portraiture, nature photography, street photography, sports photography, and digital editing and enhancing.

> About us
In 1989, the Northeast Photography Club was formed by a small group of dedicated photographers to encourage photographic interest and appreciation. After more than twenty years, the mission remains the same and the club has evolved into a large, active organization of over sixty members from the Northeast Pennsylvania Region.

We meet the second Wednesday of every month for a short business meeting, a guest session and a themed competition. The guest session may be a critique of photographs, club speaker, outside speaker, workshop, or general discussion of photography. Visitors are always welcome at our meetings to experience our programs, to see what we do, meet our members and share our enthusiasm.

Monthly meetings enable members to share their knowledge and are dedicated to the improvement of photographic technique and vision. Presentations are made by a skilled amateur or professional speaker.

The club holds print competitions at every meeting. The competitions are judged by all club members who also give constructive evaluation and assign images a point value to determine winners. Competition themes are communicated through the Club Newsletter. Additional competitions are held to select the postcard image advertising each NPC Gallery Exhibition.

>Club Shows
Several exhibits of members’ works are held each year. Every show is judged by a professional photographer, and awards are given for Best in Show, First Place, Second Place and Honorable Mention. Club members’ work is also exhibited at art venues throughout the region.

>Photo Critique
Periodic photo critique sessions are scheduled at the Abington Community Library in Clarks Summit. This additional activity enables members to learn from each other and to have their photographic work assessed by their fellow photographers. Dates are typically announced on the club’s Facebook Group Page and Website. Photos are also regularly uploaded to the Facebook page and to the club website for comment and critique.

>Field Trips
Periodically, field trips are organized to further encourage the photographic experience. These provide an opportunity to share photographic experiences with other members.
